This is the point of street photography: to find beauty in the mundane of life, and capture it without influence.
When I look at street photographs from some of my favorite photographers, I get to see other places and perspectives and beautiful coincidences that are perfectly genuine.
Great street photos usually have a subject that is extraordinary in some way. It could be timing, it could be the light at a certain type of day, it could be irony, or out of place.
Capturing oddities and coincidence is a street photographer's craft.
That is what absolutely captivates me, the fact that what I get to see is beautiful and rare, and I get to witness it as it was without having been there at the exact right time and place myself.
If you want to be even more impressive… try shooting street photos on film!
